Introducing: The new social media world

Today’s teens and tweens are connected to one another, and to the world, via digital technology  more than any previous generation. Recent data suggests that social media venues like Facebook and Twitter have surpassed e-mail as the preferred method of communication in all age groups. While today’s tweens and teens may be more digitally savvy than their parents, their lack of maturity and life experience can quickly get them into trouble with these new social venues.  For this reason, it is imperative that parents talk with their children of all ages about social media and monitor their online social media use to help them navigate this new online social world. How parents talk with their kids and teens will vary slightly by age depending on the topic being discussed.
As you scrolling down throughout this blog, I hope you find something caught your attention and learn from it as I did, from each of these entries.

Response to Jennifer's Blog

On Jennifer's Blog, she discovered the usage of social media that can be coursing positive and negative way, depend the needs of people. I also agree where she mention that the social media is more likely effects on negative way, such as an addiction and disorders! Some people would carry their device everywhere they go and even take it to bathroom (I would say that including myself), to prevent the miss of group's conversation. On top of that, the most dangerous part of this is that: people aim to text and drive. Adding to her Jennifer's research, this is still occurring in the teenage group that we have to be careful and keep eyes on. I would recommend that her blog is a place where it assist us on better understanding of social media.

Response of "A Reunion with Boredom" by Charles Simic

In the essay of, "A Reunion with Boredom" by Charles Simic is talking about how life without devices or any technology can still alive. Simic has mention that, "Being without light and water is fairly common experience for those of us who live in rural areas on roads lined with old trees."(Simic, 2011 para. 2) due to this word, it remind me of the life before technology; where people in side-country would living as traditional way, no phone, no computer, or any devices to disturb their childhood life, beside TV in some household. Although, people can still earning their happiness in darkness without the need of bright of electricity of technology as in city life in now day, but only the oil lamps and candle instead. Well, maybe as the time goes by and the population of generation rising, this can be the involve of the change to the cyber-world, and target of business company.

Could using Facebook to pay really pay off?

News reports are today suggesting that Facebook is planning to introduce financial services to allow users to make electronic payments, but could using Facebook really pay off as it been said? The company is believed to be seeking regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to offer electronic money and remittances with a service that is expected to be Europe-wide. A further rollout however would offer Facebook huge opportunities in emerging economies where the trend of payment via mobile devices is catching on much faster than in economies where methods of payment are more established and where payment infrastructures are less structured. Although, Facebook are not commenting on the issue at the moment the social network has also startups who offer international money transfer via smartphone apps – so it does seem that their intentions are there especially given the additional foothold it would give the network in developing markets. Facebook launched last week that it now has more than 100million users in India – its second biggest market after the US.
